Administration Office | Anishinabek Nation

From Jean Larocque’s initial winter walk through the forest and a sketch in the snow, LEA has actively been working with the Anishinabek Nation to create a vision for their administrative institution outside of North Bay. Originally established as the Union of Ontario Indians (UOI), the Anishinabek Nation is a political advocate for 39 member First Nations Across Ontario and delivers a variety of programs and services such as Health, Social Development, Education Policy and Communications, Economic Development, Lands and Resources, Labour and Market Development, Restoration of Jurisdiction and Legal. LEA has been fortunate to serve as the Anishinabek Nation’s Architect of Record, having been involved in numerous construction projects to accommodate their growing needs, culminating with the construction of a central hub addition in 2011, connecting four existing buildings oriented along the axis of the four directions and unifying the operations of the oldest political organization in Ontario.
